I am thinking about getting my rims painted black tell me what you think

 

let me know how you think it would look!!!

 

Ive seen black rims on a white z400, they looked sweet! I want to see what black rims on a yellow z400 look like. I would like to paint mine black too depending on how it looks.

 

Will look sweet, then chip like hell the first time you ride for a while.....I would get them powder coated, or buy black rims.

 

Yeah, ITP is now selling rims that have a blakc finish to them.

 

I would like to see a set done up black anodized.

 

i just painted mine black.it looks real nice(yellow Z400).i used krylon fusion without sanding or priming(the directions on the can said you didnt need to)anyhoo i am experementing with this, and if it chips i will try primer.i think keeping the paint from chipping will be difficult.

Did you have to un-mount them when you painted them?

 

i did on the front,the rear i left on and put the quad in first gear and then painted,the paint came out awsome(no runs)but the down side is black hub and nuts,so i got 5F5 paint remover and a toothbrush to remove it.later i will repaint the hub blue.i noticed a small chip near one of the lug nuts.so i need to start over and sand,prime with a good primer,then repaint.if that doesn't work than i will get hypers!!!!

 

how much is it for black rims (4) for z400.....nothin special......i dont really wanna paint mine because theyd probly chip, and then look like s**t, i'd rather just save up for some new ones
