Default a death and a crash

On tuesday evening in florence ky.My stepbrothers real dad was heading through an intersection by krogers, someone coming the other way ran the light and turned in front of him,he was killed instantly,he was riding a gsxr600 street bike. And just yesterday,i was riding my 91 banshee around "the big curve" (wich is a really long sweeping curve in a field by our trails that we use for drifiting and stuff). I dont know how but during my drift my wheels caught on something and flipped the crap out of me. I was in 3rd gear and reving high. I over extended my left knee pretty bad,and havent been able to use my knee since, its really really friggin swelled up pretty big.I can walk on it a little,(funny looking limp). My nurse girlfriend says its just sprained pretty bad. I lucked out,the quad could have crushed me,but somehow missed me,and i was wearing a helmet. The sad thing is,my bro's real dad was only going about 45 mph,and died from trauma to the back of his head.He had no broken bones except for his skull. THe police officers said a helmet would have almost for sure saved his life

Sorry to hear about that man. If I were you, I would head to the bone doc's place and have him check it out. It would suck to sit around for weeks waiting for you leg to heal (which is what you'll end up doing anyways) and then find out that it healed itself wrong and then you'd have to have surgery to correct it. You could have broken or fractured something and not know it. JMO.

Life sometimes sucks, just don't let his accident bring you down for life. Its too bad that we still don't think it can happen to us but it can and does. When I was 14 I was being chased by a cop while riding double on my kdx 250, when I went to turn the front wheel washed out due to a flat tire that I didn't notice due to the extra wieght on the back. Point is my helmet had a 3 to 4 inch chunk taken out of it and my best friends helmet was cracked. That woke me up for the most part but After becoming an adult and getting a 4x4 I sometimes would ride without a helmet thinking that it okay because we were just sight seeing and going slower than our normal riding, until an unexpected tree branch caused me to flip the 600lb plus 4x4 on me, end result was a concusion after being knocked out. I'd rather be healthy and painfree rather than macho now.
My condolences to you and your family

By you sharing this horrible personal experience, maybe someone who reads this might decide to wear a helmet on a day when it will save their life. Thanks for sharing and my condolonces go out to your whole family.

I feel for your loss. I am sure you will be a great comfort to your step-brother as he deals with this loss for the rest of his life. Hope your knee gets better.
