Default Vinson Air and Jetting mods

Hey,

Just installed Diamond G snorkel, Quad works air filter and Dynojet jet. I replaced the needle with the Dynojet needle on the second clip and left the stock jet as it was the same as the largest one provided by dynoject. The Quad works power kit said to use a 22 jet and the diamond G snokel said to use a 28 jet. I am not getting the performane I wanted. Infact the acceleration is not as snappy as it used to be. Any suggestions on how to best tune my Vinson?

Thanks

My jet kit improved performance, but I didn't do the snorkel, etc. Vinson 581 would be the one to contact, as he seems to have done everything imaginable to his Vinnie.

Go order more jets from Dyno Jet, get 138 to 146. Put your clip on 4. My setup is a 146 clip on 4 and it flys. I have 26 inch Bear CLaws and will still bury the speedo (62) with easy. The Vinson likes alot of air and gas. There is a small difference between the dyno jet and the stock jet tho they read the same number.

dynojet and kehnin numbers, are completely different.

for example a stock vinson jet which is a 128, is entirely different from a dyno jet 128.

HMF reccomends a keihin 142 main, WAY OFF. thats like a dj # ----- unknown....

i would try pickin up a 36 and a 38 pilot.

stock is a 35.

i have my needle on the 3rd clip.

on the second clip it a had slight bog, indicateing too rich, i am going to try the 4th clip but that may be too much air. also make sure the spacers are in properly.

DISREGARD THE SETUP IN MY SIG< I have a cam>

here is a setup you might want to try.

dj 124, or 126
a 36 pilot
2 3/4 turn on the air screw
clip on the 3rd slot

i have to rejet my quad again.

my setup is

DJ 128
35 pilot- i am going up to a 36-38
2 3/4 turns on air screw
clip on 3rd slot, -going to try 4th.
Web Cam
And i am going to cut the air intake tube and bore it out.

i am prolly running to out of spec right now, i just havent had the time to play around with it.

v581

btw a

124 dyno jet is equal to about a 142 kehnin.

128 is the stock jet(keihin) prolly equad to a 118(dynojet)

The 4th slot on your needle will raise it making it richer, second slot will lower the needle leaning it out.
