hey guys. im gona race this coming sunday with my z400 against some raptors and possibly another z, its just an oval race course but it should be fun. anyway i have a problem, i wanted to change my oil and it turns out when i wanted to put the plug back in the oil tank, it never gets tight anymore so abviously i over tightened it last time i changed the oil. how can i fix the problem real fast? im thinking of just cutting in a larger screw for the tank, that wAY the only difference will be is ill have to use a bigger plug. do you think it will work without me litterely "screwing up" my oil tank? i need help fast, cause if i dont get it fixed by saturday well i wont be able to race and ill have paid a fee for nothing. thanx

 

For just a quick fix I'd look for some type of rubber plug that would fit.I know they have them for stripped out car oil pans and they come with a special tool to remove and reinstall them.Be careful trying to rethread or fix the original tank hole that you don't get shavings or peices inside the tank.Good Luck against the Raptor's.

 

this happened to me, it takes 5 miutes to drill the threads out and retap it. You will have to go one size bigger that all. Its extremly easy. No Worrys. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

hey thanx guys. i wasint shure if only one size would be enough just to be shure, but the problem is, i dont have any milimetric sizes, the next size would be 1/2 inch. is it too big? and im a little worried about getting those threads or little peaces of metal in my tank. how can i make shure the tank will be clean?

 

yeah, i had to go to standerd as well. Just run some oil threw the tank to get any thing that could of fell into the oil tank.
