Default about to rebuild, question about seals

when i first rebuilt my 87 250,it blew up again about 2 hours later.i had replaced the crank, crank seals, crank bearings, rod and rod bearings, and a new top end(bore- piston). My mechanic looked it over and said it had gotten to hot from ethier not breaking it in properly,or it was leaning out from an air leak. my question is. Is there anyways that a mechanic could check my main crank bearing seals for an air leak? they are brand new but i slighlty dented the side of one of them putting it in,not a bad dent, not a big enough thing to make me think i hurt the seal. its not on the outside of the seal or on the part of the seal that touches the crank, but on the side. and is it possible to change the main seals without splitting the ole cases?

yes you can change the seals without splitting the cases.after the new ones are in you should do a leak down test to make sure everything is sealed up.then break it in properly.go to trinityracing.com and read the break-in procedure for a two stroke.good luck
