I guess I got tired of what my Rincon DID'NT have.

No front diff locker,no front disk brakes,no adjustable shocks,very/very poor downhill engine braking,no low range, and no over-ride button. And yet,Honda has the nerve to ask 7500 bucks for it when the other manufactures come factory with most all of these features for alot less retail price.

I dont miss the Rincon a bit.So far,im very glad I switched over to the KQ.

I'm not an expert on utility quads or the new breed of high cc sportier 4x4's, but I did read in my newest 3&4 wheel action magazine that the new KQ topped out at 72 according to it's own speedo. If that speedo is accurate, that's really really fast. That kind of speed was previously reserved for only the highest performace race/sport quads. Can anyone who owns one verify? If so, I got to get me one of those!

Why then, did you purchase the Rincon in the first place? You knew all its shortcomings before you ever signed on the dotted line. Most OEM's had all those features way back in 2002, yet you still paid $7500 for a featureless Rincon. I just don't get gripes like these. It's perfectly understandable to avoid a purchase because of lack of features, but to actually buy the machine and then complain about the lack of features is beyond comprehension.

Don't get me wrong. The KQ is at the top of my list for my next quad. If Honda doesn't announce a bigger bore by next year's dealer show, I will most likely be riding a KQ in 2006. But you won't ever hear me complain about my Rincon purchase. I knew what I was getting when I bought it, and after 4000 virtually trouble free miles, I know I bought a good one.

Still, after 460+ hours on the same ATV, I am ready for a little more performance. This is where the KQ comes in. I'll just have to stick around the forums to see if it can take abuse as well as the Rincon...

Well I can certainly say this, I wouldn't trade my Rincon for one. I would take a great loss to trade now because the bike is brand new. It would not be worth it for me because I would lose a couple of thousand probably on the deal. Theres not that much of difference to me. Now if I sell my Rincon and get a good price for it that would be different. Or if I was offered the chance to trade even.

I'm just saying it would be too big a loss to trade now and even some dealers I have contacted have told me themselves they wouldn't advise trading because I would take to bad a beating on the deal. Just being honest and its true and besides I've said before I could careless if the brakes are drums, discs, or sealed It doesn't sway me. Nether does EFI or a differential lock, had it on my old King and never used it in 10 years. And the King's EFI DIDN'T impress me right off the bat. Had to crank and craank on it to even get it to start. Had to give it gas to get it to start even and I thought you weren't supposed to do this? Didn't start any better than my Rincon.

Its nice to have those features but it certainly isn't a buying factor to me. And I still have not seen a bike that competes with the Rincon in terms of build, fit and finish. As I have said the worst thing and really only thing that bugs me about the Rincon is the first gear simply is not low enough for my ridding conditions here in the mountains. Not only serious downhilling but up steep grades it feels weak and the low end is not real good. I would be shifting down a gear on any other quad when I get that feeling but there is no gear to shift down to.

I have actaully even thought before while climbing this must be 2nd gear only to flip the Auto/ESP switch and see it was actaully in first gear. A couple of days ago when I first started the Rincon the tranny was slipping so bad the bike was reving like crazy with WOT and was moving only a couple miles per hour. It takes a little time to warm up. I think I'm just gonna use the Rinny all I can this winter and see what the new year brings. Maybe Kawi will have even more changes next year from what I've heard and maybe Honda will make announcement about the changes to the Rincon that are rumored for 2006. I don't think trading any new big bore for another would be a smart move at this time especially when the dealers themselves are telling you the samething.

What in God's name are you talking about? Seriously, I can't make sense of your post. Please use logical sentences.

From what little I did understand about your post,

"KQ way more power" definitely

"KQ way smoother engine" probably

"KQ much better ride" not a chance, nothing beats the ride of a Rincon

Well,
one good reason I bought my Rincon was that I hated BELT driven ATVs and I was EMPLOYED in sales at a Honda dealership at the time.I did NOT pay 7599 for my Rincon either. But I was getting paid 7599 for the ones I was selling.I bought my Rincon for 6800 bucks,it was the very first one thru our dealership.

Dont get me wrong, this Rincon is a nice machine, but if I did'nt work at the Honda Dealership and was'nt so frustrated with my two belt driven Polaris ATVs at the time, and know what I know now about the Rincon's shortcomings,I dont beleive I would have ever bought it.

There's just far to many other brand ATVs out on todays market that offer so much more than the Rincon and cost less money to buy.And are as reliable as the Honda too.

That no one can beat the Rincon ride...that's just not true now! The KQ when run through all the adjustments can be tuned to beat a rincon for each seperate driving condition. You'll have to ride one to see! It is better or a least as good as the Rincon, with the benifit of being adjustable.

I love the belt drive on my 650 so much that I will only look for a machine with a belt. I can tune it, and if I get in water too deep, I don't have a $2000 repair bill. Also, my friends take me on some nasty trails that the higher CG of the rincon would be a big deal to me. Engine braking is a must. Now I have seen on some of the jamborees a lot of older folks riding rincons on the easy trails and I thought that if that is the way I rode, a rincon would be a great machine. But, a rinny would be a big disadvantage for me where I ride.

You dont really want to ride a Rincon in extreme downhill situations with its poor engine braking. It did'nt bother me to much because I did'nt ride in alot of extreme downhill situations. But now that I have excellant engine braking on my KQ,I am finding that I AM riding in these situations without even thinking much about it.
