Default KQ ADVERSE TERRAIN ABILITIES

RedKing,

Yes you have to remove the skid plate... Or at least take a lot it loose... :-) The plug is just inside the Right hand frame rail oposite of the Right foot peg... If I remember correctly it is black... But for the life of me I don't know why I can't remember... It must be CRS syndrome....

Oh and once we got the water out.. we cut a 1 1/2 inch hole in the skid plate to allow access to the plug without taking the plate off...

I hope that helps...

Yea, if u hit deep water fast the belt slips, makes u nervous. If u hold the throttle just till the wheels want 2 roll, u can get a nice wheelie going. Lands nice off three ft jumps. Hand grips are being cut off soon, my hand is killin me. Most impressive are those stock tires, they can go through some good water and mud, but the rims bend ez.

I noticed the same thing about the wheels. I like the tires too. I do not know why evderybody on the fourm says they suck. I am new to atv's so maybe I do not know the difference.

If you THINK the stock tires work well on the KQ,switch over to some REAL mud tires to see what us others are refering to.

I have 589s on my new KQ and there is a night/day differance with traction in the real sticky mud/snow.

Do you think a Uni-Bit would drill it?

I haven't noticed any lack of low end on the King!

Not trying to revive an old thread...

But I just got back from a hunting trip to WV... And my stock KQ did everything that my nephews modded Griz did...! Although I have to admit I think a set of Mudlites are on my shopping list... I think 589's might be just a bit agressive for the trail riding in Florida..

But riding through the Coopers Rock state forest on the stock Dunlaps posed no problem what so ever and power was plentiful...

Dozer66 a UniBit would do the job just fine on the Skid plate!!!

Later all,

A very tired!
