Default Oil Change

When it comes to car maintenance I do it myself but am a little new to ATV maintenance. I'm assuming most of you guys just visit your local dealer for engine oil and filter, spark plugs, etc? If not, feel free to give me some suggestions on engine oil/filter brands. Thanks.

I always went to the dealer to pick up my oil filters (I'd buy like 2 or 3 at a time just to have them around). You can buy your oil at Autozone. They carry Valvoline ATV 10w40 for like $2.99 a quart. I used it in my Ozark and it works great.

The last time I changed the ozark oil, the filter was 10 bucks at the dealer. I found rockymountain and dennis kirk were much cheaper. Oil is gonna run about 3 bucks a quart, for wet clutch applications. If you change it yourself, it should cost well under 10 bucks a time. If you can change car oil, this isnt any harder to do.

60 bucks for an oil change? buy a manual so you can do it yourself and save alot of money. or if you get a 2 stroke like me, you dont have to chnage oil except for the tranny
