Default LT250R pipe question

I am thinking about putting a new pipe on my LT soon. I think i am going to put a Paul Turner on unless pursuaded that there is a better one for the money. My question is what other mod's do i have to do to put a new pipe on? what size jets do i have to put in my carb? do i have to mess with my reed? what the hell is a reed, i read all sorts of stuff about it but am clueless to what it is or what it does?
please help as i am very new at this and dont want to blow it.

Default LT250R pipe question

I just got a smoking deal on a Paul Turner pipe on e-bay for 50.00 plus shipping. I would like to add a question to the previous post. I currently have a FMF Fatty on the quad and I had a persistant leak at the head pipe connection at the head. Has anyone used automotive style clamps up their or is there a better method?

As far as the exhaust leak at the header the best thing you can do, besides get new gaskets and weld the pipe to the header, is get some high temp silicone and coat where they join together. I had to do it bc all the carbon and crap was getting my pretty white motor dirty lol. eventually the silicone will blow out, then you just have to do it again.

And reeds are a form of intake valve on 2 stroke motors. Instead of having valves to seal the combustion chamber, 2 strokes use the reeds and the piston itself to secure compression. Better reeds allow better air flow, and better atomization to the air/fuel mixture. giving quicker throttle response and more power throughout the entire RPM range, and a quicker more powerful powerband. In my opinion a performance reed cage system is one of the best mods you can do to your bike.

In my opinion the Paul Turner pipe is the best for the quadracer. My friend is looking for a paul turner pipe, and doesn't like ebay(got ripped off), where else can you get a PT Pipe?

I Have a paul Turner pipe that I want to sell. I becase of same prob you are talking about have welded the pipe to the slip joint so will not leak as bad as before. You have to put pipe on with bolts vrs studs then saftey wire bolts so they dont come off.(At least thats the way I put it on) got tired of nuts coming off while riding! ( i will include the bolts + 3 spares that have been drilled for saftey wire) works great! I am getting either brand new Paul Turner or FTZ pipe in Chrome. This Paul Turner is the works finish raw metal then polished. can provide pics if wanted, also look in my pics you will see it there as well.I also have the Fatboy silencer brand new for additinal$
Pipe $125.00
silencer $75.00
sparky $25.00

Default LT250R pipe question

eatmy roost. FMF is ok for bottom to mid for a little better then stock(I used to have one) but night and day compared to Paul Turner pipe. Paul T pulls supper hard from mid to top as I have the high rev pipe and it frigin awsome compared to the FMF.

Superevil thanks for the props bro. I know I have sold some stuff to you when you needed it and as much as you needed the parts I sure could use the money.LOL so we both had a great relationship with that!No never did get the 450 as much as I would like to but wife aint having any of that.LOL so instead of the new quad mine is down to the frame Powder coat, chrome, etc. already putting back together now. She looks sick! Might be getting 426 motor to put in it so I can have the big motor feel!lol will be selling my Trinity motor ,pipe, plastics, etc, etc its gonna be brand new again !!

if and when you need that kicker I got it for you.
K-dog

A friend of mine just bought a 1989 honda 250r that has a yz426 motor in it,and im not talking about the detuned yamaha motor in the yfz450,im talking about the faster version thats in the 2 wheelers. He bought it straight off of someone he called "digger?"
he paid 7500 for it.,and it is awesome. K-DOG,WHY HAVENT YOU POSTED A PICTURE OF YOUR QUAD IN THE NICE LOOKING QUAD THREAD? yours definitely is probably the nicest ive ever seen
