Default LTZ 400 Question

I bought my LTZ Limited Edition in April and there is a squeak in the wheel everytime it turns. I took my bike to a safety class in June and there was a lady in the class that had an LTZ 400 that had the squeak too. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Default LTZ 400 Question

Is it comming from the Rear?

If it is, it is probably the Rear Rotor. Mine squeeks pretty bad. I guess that's a normal thing for thease Z400's.. From what i hear its because of the rotor being a solid rotor.. Alot of people who have switched to a vented rotor do not have the squeeking problem. My cousin has a 400ex that came with a vented rotor, and his doesn't squeek, but i don't know if that is because of the vented rotor or not.

It's the rear brake. They all do it. My brother bought the DVX 400 at the same time I bought my Z, and they both squeak. My buddies all ride DS650's, and they all squeak.

The good news is it quits squeaking about midway through second gear, so I recommend going faster than that all the time. J/K

The front shock bushings do squek i took my bolt out and lubed the bushing up and the squek went away. You guys should try it. As for the rear rotor , i found were the rotor was hitting the brake pads and squeking . Then i hit that part with a hammer and evened the rotor out. No noise and i put new pads on.

Default LTZ 400 Question

Mine was squeaking last weekend. It was the little tin plate that bent in and touched the front rotor. It's quiet after bending it back out by hand.
