Suzuki is Best?
#1
Why is it that Suzuki, in my opinion, combines more good features on their ATV's, including price, than the others, but they aren't as popular? Disk brakes, 2WD/4WD selectable, semi-independent rear suspension, low CG, separate front/rear brakes, lower price, just as reliable. The one thing they COULD do is make the front diff. lockable like the King Quad. They just don't get the press like Honda, Polaris, etc. and they make a better bike (again, in my opinion, overall).

When I shopped around the suzuki had out priced them selves. Every deatler I went to was asking way too much for what I could get in a comperable machine for hundreds less. As they say each their own. Maybe your dealers are a little more aggressive when it comes down to pricing.

I've owned both the Suzuki 4wd and Polaris 4wds.Suk is still putting drum style brakes on its KQ,thats a big down fall.So is the little 280cc engine they have in it.I owned a 87 4WD quad runner, the only inprovement to the engine was 30cc,BIG DEAL.
The biggest differance is probably the ride. The Suk does not give the same ride as the fully IRS 4x4s do.I dont personally care for how low they sit to the ground either,no ground clearance.Price is another factor. You can buy a larger cc Quad with more options for around the same price as the comperable Suk.
I will agree with the dependablilty factor of the Suk,great, reliable quads.===Bill

Everyone keeps mentioning price. I paid $5600 for my 2000 QuadMaster 500. All of the other comparable bike were at least $6000 (Grizzley for example)and the new Rubicon is almost $7000 with no disk brakes, full time 4WD, and a swing arm (is it air cooled like the rest?). As for the IRS, I think Suzuki is the only manf. with a fully IRS bike (Kind Quad). The QuadMaster and QuadRunner have semi-IRS. All of the bikes I've looked at (ie, Rubicon, Grizzley, etc.), have a swing arm rear susp.which I really don't think measures-up on tough terrain. Again, what other bike has 2WD/4WD selection, semi-IRS, water cooled engine, disk brakes for under $6000?

In June of 97 when i went Quad shopping i was either going to get the Polaris 500,or the King Quad. The reason is cause the rear suspenion that they both had.The Polaris dealer wanted 6,200 out the door.It was a demo with the winch and the rack exstions. But as the deal went on the add ons were going to be extra after i was told the first price. So i went to Suzuki and got the KQ for5,100 out the door.I grant you the KQ doesent have the power or the ground clearance but it does what i want it to and it's been a solid machine.Maybe Suzuki will sooner or later make some improvements with it.....BOB

I thought Polaris made a good bike too. But the dealer walked me back to the shop and 13 out of 17 ATV's were Polaris. So I didn't go that route. Actualy, take a look at the Feature Article on this website titled "Magnum/QuadMaster -- Taking a Look at Comfort, Traction and Reliability". The Polaris ended-up in the shop after the test.
