Default Moose plow on a King Quad

Hey:
Does anyone out there have a moose plow on the King yet?
My mount finally came in, but the instructions are for a Prarie 650 (maybe the same plate fits both?).

What I am wondering, does the factory skid need to come off to mount the new plow mounting plate?

Thanks to all of you!
Happy Holidays!
