I broke the tie rod and rod end on my King. The dealer is supposed to have the rod end on Friday. The rod itself is on backorder. I am having one made at a local tool and die shop. The guy wanted to make it out of stronger steel, however, I decided that the engineers from Suzuki probably designed it out of cold rolled steel for a reason.

If you don't mind me asking how did you guys bend your rods? Was it crazy riding, jumping, boulders or just some freak accident?

I was tryying to pull a wheelie and it came down on a stump I was trying to avoid and the wheels where turned the stump grapped the front tire and bent the tie rod. I am glad the tie rod is not beefier i probly would have caused more damage. As it is the rod is only 20 buck if I could get one from suzuki and that is all that broke. I got lucky. It could have taken out the radiator again and I already had some chick wreck it into a stump and the radiator is not cheap. I am not having any luck with stump's and my king quad.

Well, I wish I could say the problem was a defective part or design flaw. I can't. Caught a tree with the right front and flipped the bike.

I got it back together yesterday and everything is back to normal.

The guy that made my rod is just a small machine shop that doesn't take cards. Sorry. Surely someone near you can make that rod, check around.
