For keeping it running, spend a couple bucks for an inline fuel filter. They're known for having crap in the tank from the factory.
A stage one jet kit will improve the throttle response and you can do it a lot cheaper on your own. Get the k&n (about $45) a 130 & 135 main jet from your dealer (about 2.50 each). That's a lot cheaper than buying the kit (over $100). I also used a small thin brass washer as a spacer for the needle. Just make some runs for feel and check your plug to see how it's burning to help decide which main jet to keep in there. I like the 130 on mine but will probably move up to the 135 when my pipe comes.
If you want to spend more there are a couple pipes, but not many. I can't report on that yet since the ups guy still hasn't delivered mine.

Hey dman I have had a 2003 Eiger for 1 1/2 years now and I'm loving every minute of it. It's running strong and sweet. I run it in the winter as well as summer (my husband borrows my Quad to pull his shack out). I'm just a beginner as this is my first 4 wheeler and I'm learning alot (doing donuts on the ice is alot of fun and going muddin is a blast). My husband suggested we get an auto but I wanted the stick. No regrets here I won. Actually it took me a couple of years to convince my husband on purchasing a 4 wheeler, after finally convincing him he did extensive research and voila we (I) have an Eiger. He's green, mean and he's a bute.
Enjoy your new ride. cause I love mine.
