Coolant problems Z400

Ever since I got my bike a have to ad a little coolant to the reservoir once in a while is this normal? I had the bike a year.

do you mean the bottle on the side of the quad? if so, thats just the overflow.....

Coolant problems Z400

Does the coolant drip out of a breather close to the front of the cylinder? If so...you've probably got a blown head gasket. Does it smoke at all?...especially after warming up?
