Default Fcr on z400?

I have a Z400 dose anyone think a 39mm fcr will work on my z400 I have both hot cams and a 13:5.1 piston and I'm not sure if I want to go up on the bore size any time soon. I was also thinking of just getting a edelbrock. I was told with out the big bore the bike would fall on its face mid and top end that is with the fcr also what about a vortex cdi.

Yep it will work great...keep an eye out because YFZ owners like to get rid of their FCR39's for very cheap...I've seen one go for $195!! The Vortex is also a great mod. There are 10 adjustable timings for all type of situations...kinda expensive, but well worth the $$$ IMO.

195 for a yfz-450 is what they cost brand new. Its when you get the carbs off the dirt bikes is when it gets exspensive.

I know plenty of stock bore stock stroke Z's that have FCR 39's and wouldn't trade them for anything...

a 30 mm will be to small for the Z. the 03/04 models came with a 36mm carb on it
I run a 41mm fcr and it has way more response then the stock one but I had lots of motor work done too

I just put a 39mm FCR and a Dyna CDI on my quad. It gave as much if not more of a gain then the cams & base gasket.
Very good improvement IMO.
