it is a great quad. here is what i like and dislike:
like:
great power across the entire rev band
very forgiving and smooth ride...still feel fresh at the end of the day
transmission is smooth and great braking action
good looking
great sound
great lights
easy starting, no choke or ritual b.s. just turn the key, wait 3 seconds and hit the button
sure doesn't feel like 600 pounds, seems much lighter

dislike:
took awhile to break in, about 100 miles
stupid plastic fasteners holding plastic cover makes checking oil a pain
factory tires are aweful, suzuki should be ashamed of itself for putting this crap on such a great quad
display is a bit hard to read with small numbers for hours, miles, etc
could use a bit more protection for the cv joints
bumper is crappy in front
unable to find any aftermarket parts to fit it yet

there you go. hope it helps:-)

What he said . Might want to wait for the 06, seems that some are having trouble with the reverse gear taking a dump.

I have 2 2005 KQ's.

Likes,

Power, Hauling ability, Handling and traction!

Dislikes,

Trying to get to the belt case drain plug. LOL. Possible Reverse problem? I haven't had any problems but others have. Lack of accessories?

I have about 500 miles on mine. So far so good.
Like: power, speed, great suspension, great handling, low centre of gravity, very quiet, lights are excellent, fun to ride

Dislike: bumper is a bit weak, limited slip differential seems to cause shifting in traction on front wheels when in 4wd in snow, which causes front end to sway from side to side a bit(not really a major issue - just annoying), parts are just starting to come in and accessories are few, rear cargo rack is quite narrow, I have also had an intermittant EFI failure when really cold (less than -10F) which seems to be the only one having that problem.

worries: lots of reports on reverse failure which seems to be linked to running in reverse hard with override on causing a fusion between a bushing and a shaft. Hopefully Suzuki will come up with a fix on this.
Personally if I could I would recommend waiting a year, otherwise it is a great bike.

I only got to take one for a spin in the dealer's lot. Seems to have more sporty suspension than my buddy's Rincon (less body roll), and way more power.

The one I tried out was really cold blooded. Does that go away once they are broken in?

The things I like and dislike.

Like. The power is very good once going after the initial hesitation from the start. Looks sporty and rides very nice.

Dis-likes. Hesitation from the start, bad tires, basicly no front protection, small racks, those small body fasteners, and after market parts are taken forever.

Initial cost is great, but by adding tires, bumpers, more storage, and skids, your still going to be around $8000

Here is a question for you KQ owners. How is it on fuel? How many mile can you get on a tank? What other big bore atv would you compare the fuel economy too.....700 Prairie, Griz, Rincon...etc.

Likes:
Styling, price,3rd headlight, handling, steering, ergonomics, efi, mid range power, brakes, very easy to install winch/wiring, instant belt engagement, low center of gravity, fuel economy

Dislikes:
Geared to high, boggs off idle, tranny drain plug covered by skid plate, seat latch, winch placed to low and to far back in the frame, big plastic front end waiting to be cracked, front ground clearence

I hope the power commander I ordered will get rid of the bogg off idle, and hopefully when a clutch kit come out it will kinda make up for my 27" mud lites, and what I feel is high gearing. If it isn't gearing then the CVT is going to the "high end to fast" if that makes sense
