The z400 and the kfx 400 are praticly the same things. But is one faster than the other? Does one have more of a "bite" than the other?

They ARE the same thing. There is no difference. Same engine, Same tires, same shocks, same frame, same thing!

There is a difference, the headlight cowl on the KFX is not on the Z, so it probably weighs 6 ounces more

Looking at this thread brings a question to my mind. If they are the same then why so much praise to the Z and the kfx is always in its shadow. Does Suzuki own Kawasaki or viceverse or what?

This is the Suzuki forum! In the Kawi forum they praise the KFX. The Z is usually mentioned in general because it was out first and then rebadged for the others to use in their lineups........

Suzuki and Kawasaki agreed to share some models. Neither owns each other. The Z and Kfx are very similar and are equal in peformance. The new DVX's aren't. As of now they have tons of stock they assumed they'd sell in 2004. They never took off as they figured a sport Arctic Cat would. The DVX's don't have the remote rezzies, or the clutch, ignition, or cam mods the Z's, and KFX's have. They won't get these until they sell all of the ones they have backed up in storage.
