I took the air box lid off of my Ozark since its not dusty or nuttin. I can tell a big deffrence in sound and performance. It takes off much faster, and sounds better too.

yeah...you should check your jetting...if it's lean you could go up a size or 2 on the main jet and go even faster

By removing the lid your letting alot more a into the mix, thats why you need to go up in main jet, but thats only going to work if you change the exuast. So basically all you get running without the lid in stock form is some intake noise and a dirty filter. Like Ozark38 said put your lid back on.

umm...you will notice an increase without an exhaust, but you will notice more with the exhaust. You better jet up if you plan on leaving it off...i took my lid of and noticed a big difference...i didnt have to jet because it was too rich before. So make sure you do a plug chop, and if your running lean go up a few sizes on the main jet. If you dont have a clue what your doing with jetting, put the lid back on.

Some people confuse intake noise for power, I guess in a case where the bike is rich it could be a benefit. When we took the lid off our OZ it was way lean.
