Default jetting

I got 2 questions....How do i jet? ya ya call me a noob. And if i get a slip on exhaust, do i need to jet?

If you get a slip-on, yes you have to re-jet. to re-jet you have to take the carb off. Usually with a slip-on, you just have to change the mainjets, so you would take the float bowl off the carb and swap mainjets.

anyone know what it would cost to have my dealer put it on if i bought it online?

if you get more air flow you have to re-jet, period. Even removeing the airbox lid means your gonna need to rejet. As far as re-jetting goes I leave that to a mechanic. I payed $6 for the jet $75 to have it installed. I would rather just let someone who knows what they are doing work on my bike so i can rely on it, and not have to worry about it screwing up on me.

It isnt that difficult to rejet, dont be afraid to try it.
Heres a good article on jetting, and it shows symptoms of lean and rich.
If you run into problems, just ask for help.

I dont need to jet now, i dont even have my z yet. I gotta w8 til the end of this year [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Im just getting info on it so i dont screw it over when i first get it thx
