Default help hard decision

umm i need some help in making a decision.
and that decision is
z400, 400 ex, raptor, or yfz 450
money is dependant on my grades
so its come down to a z400 or 400 ex with an exhaust,
raptor with wheel spacers,
or stock yfz450,
im pretty crazy but not 75 foot crazy,
and i ride just about every thing,
i plan on making my own mx track, your input is welcome

I would go with the Z400. I think that it is an all around good quad. I had a Raptor and had to many problems with it. The 400EX has no reverse if that is important to you and the yz I have no experience with. I got rid of my Raptor and bought the Z400. Very happy with it. Solid machine.

get the Z but if you take the stock YFZ and retard the exhaust cam 1 tooth it puts the motor like the dirtbike motor
and gives a little more HP and it will beat a Z400 with some mods very easy
the 400ex is a good bike very dependable but not as fast as the other 2
raptors SUCK

I like my z400 alot. the 400ex has reverse now so....i dont think it will keep up with any of the other bikes though. I would have to say the Z400 is obviously my pick since i have one and i am kinda biased. It is a good quad though and is awesome once you put a pipe on it. Hey mucky i got my HMF pipe. It gave me a huge power increase and i am loving the rpm's, it makes wheelies alot easier. next performance mod. will be either a cdi box or shocks. not sure yet though.

I was told once that what good is power if you dont have the suspension to handle it
I would do the suspension first and then go for the cdi and motor mods

Dont any of you guys read shootouts or magazines or reviews. The yamaha 450 and the honda 450r are the only quads made that are all around bad enough to finally put the honda 250r out of business!! For almost 20 years the honda 250r dominated the race circuit, and the first quads made that could replace it were the yamaha 450 and the honda 450r. It depends on what your looking for. I wouldnt even put the 400ex and the z400 in the same class as the 450's in stock form. THE ONLY departments the 400ex and z400 would compete with the 450's in is reliability and affordability(in stock form),and value, but All are great quads. If your into performance and speed,i would definitely go with one of the 450's.If you just want something reliable to ride, that CAN be real fast with mods go for a 400. I know there are guys on here that swear on there z400's on here, and z400's can run right with a 450 with mod's. I would definitely go for a yamaha 450 or a Z400 . Of course in the suzuki forums everyones going to say buy a z400,go ask the same question in the yamaha and honda forums
