BHog, There's many other tricks needed to make your machine reliable prior to being bottle fed. I would highly suggest joining the usergroup at MacDizzy.com and read Dr. Q's posts. Do the fixes accordingly.
I've been down this road, and wouldn't even consider NOS until you've fixed your cases, along with the other design shortfalls that Suzuki never deemed necessary to fix. It's only a matter of time before you'll have issues without NOS... I'm confident in saying that with it, those issues will come along much faster... not to mention getting a NOS setup to function properly without a meltdown is no small issue.
My observations: I'm assuming you have an 88+ since you've got the Vforce reeds (Some '87s have them custom made but they aren't readily available) The '87 will make more peak HP due to the larger intake, The 39mm carb is marginal on a modified motor (Taperbored to 41.5mm works better, but on a non-ported bike should be fine), the FMF pipe is garbage.... So If I had to guess, I'd say your probably making around 50-55HP depending on how fresh your top end is. (Assuming no other mods)
Unfortunately, these things are really turds in the stock configuration. With the right mods, they really come to life.
Just my $.02

The 87 jugs have such a tremendous reedcage that just putting a good set of replacement reeds in the stock cage works very well for most applications.
If your head gasket is leaking it is adviseable to take the head off and have it squared up (as little taken off as possible). Also make sure the studs are not pulling out of the jug, and last but not least torque everything down evenly and smoothly. A lot of people do not realize or know this, but the correct spark plug torque is also essential in keeping the integrity of the head even.

For an agressive motor... I like the LRD pipe, but unfortunately they are no longer available, and the ones that come up on fleabay go for big $$$$. I think the specs on the trinity drag pipe are pretty close, and I will be using one of thiers later this year on another bike I'm building.. (I hate the thought of supporting anything about Trinity, as I've had serious issues with them in the past)
For an "all around" pipe, the Paul Turner is a great pipe. Would probably really rock for your riding situation.
As far as reeds go, Bubba is right on the money... the stock cage works just fine with a fresh set of OEM petals... a 3/8" spacer is ideal to unblock the boost port.
If you are getting antifreeze in the gearbox oil, it's not the headgasket...
You've got a waterpump issue, or perhaps something worse in the lower end. I'm betting its the pump.
To answer your other head ??? (Another thread) The cool head is a waste of $$. The stock head can be machined and reconfigured to work great, and for very little $$.

i found some info about that pipe. would my silincer be ok on it or not? also i read some other threads about the 87 zilla,do u recomend going to 3/8 studs? will that help? i just got the quad about a week ago,it was supposed to be a 530cc i dont know yet. i grabed the end of my fly wheel to see for play there isn't any to notice.the bike runs good.i want to get as much out of it as i can but still be reliable. i just sold my raptor(660) can u say DOG!! it was mostly stock though. just got my new clutch in my hillclimbing quad(lt250 with a 89 750 tripp in it) it has a digital rev lim,and a timing curve in in it. great bottom end lacking on top.i think it is the timing advance.i'll play with it tommorrow. it's raining now. thanks benny

Hi Benny,
the 3/8" studs will help cure the head gasket problem... but I wouldn't mess with them until you have a problem. (The old addage, if it aint broke, don't fix it) Another fix is to use the stock studs from 88+ motors which are a 10mm stepped to 8mm so you don't have to drill out the head to the larger diameter...
If someones already worked on that motor (I'm thinking 530cc's can only be achieved at the last overbore available.. I'd have to check the math)... it might have already been fixed?
About your silencer... I don't know if it will work or not... usually not.. depends on where the new pipe is designed to meet the silencer. If it's the same as the FMF, it might work okay. I do know the LRD does not use the same length silencer.
Do the right configuration on this motor, it will run very well. So it shouldn't have any problems smoking _______ (I'm not a big 4 stroke fan, so insert your favorite degrading comment here).
I recommend getting on McDizzy's site and do some reading/learning. There is a great deal to be learned about these, and Dr. Q has outlined most of what it takes to make them great... Check it out.
Regards,
