z400?

found a used 03 z400 good condition. The only thing wrong with it is the engine case is welded because the chain come off the sprocket and cracked it. he only wants 2800 for it. I was wondering if there was anything i should look for in terms of cracked frames and bent axles. Also i was wondering if it would have enough power to ride with my friends, they have raptors and predators. thanks

if you get a pipe and a few other mods you will definatly have enough power, my friend on here rider1169 has a raptor and we ride all the time. Now 2800 is a good deal for a z, look a the shock mounts on the frame, and check for rust spots. i recomend getting a case saver for your z if you buy it so if the chain breaks again it wont crack the case.

um id go with hmf slip on and get a quite core, that might be too loud not sure, i think pro circuits are good pipes, my friends got one on his kfx, maybe the pro circuit 496?? also just buy a slip on and then get like a cam or a carb and you should be beating the raptors and preds, i beat my friends pred like this now. but hes not a very good rider.

But he doesn't want LOUD. It's definately a handicap in some cases. I tried to sneak a 30 sec jetting road test at 7:30 this evening, in the dark, with no lights, and my loving neighbor who has already called the cops on me once was out in his front yard shining me down with a spotlight! He's about 3 tenths of a mile down the road and I live in the country. This really bites! At leaset the cops didn't come this time. Sorry, I just had to vent. I guess I can't dial in my jetting until the fields dry out which will be a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time. Wish I had a stealth exaust now!

For the Z400, get the Full Yoshi, dont waste your time with the Slip-ons. My buddy has a Z400 with a Slip-On yoshi, K&N with no lid and jet kit, and my stock rappy was still beating it by 3 lenths. The Yoshi makes the most power for the Z400, Yoshimura and Suzuki designed it to work with each other. The Yoshi is also one of the quitest exhausts, its priced right at 396$. look at www.rockymountainatv.com
