Default LT 230 questions

Hi all, have a chance to buy lt230 for probably about $200 off a kid my son goes to school with. Its a basketcase. Doesn't run(he said it started making a funny noise and now it doesn't run) Cables need replaced, plastic good but faded. Probably needs rebuild.Does this style quad have a good reputation and easily available parts. Can you do a complete stock rebuild cheap? Straight clutch or semi-auto? Elect start or pull?
Already have two z400's, Just want an extra quad to stick somebody on if friends or family want to ride with us sometime.
Please let me know if an old broken down lt230 is worth ressurecting. Sorry for 5 questions in one post!

What year is it? if its an older one I would say dont bother I got an 85 for free a few weeks ago they dont have rear suspension at least mine dosent but its shaft driven maybe the chain driven ones do. parts are really expensive (unless Im just looking in the wrong place) and they are slow. But mine does have electric start and reverse. the 88 and newer ones are pretty cool. They have rear suspension electic start manual clucth and the parts are eaiser to get. its no z400 but its worth 200. I just bought a 91 for 500 and it was well worth it. If you do buy it send me an email I have some extra parts.

Thanks for the replies solman, superevil, and bubba199.
Not sure on year but its the sporty chain driven type(kinda looks like a zilla front plastic)

I think I will go ahead and get it (next friday) based on these replies. This forum is cool!

When I figure out what all it needs I will send you an email solman, thanks for your offer.

If anybody else adds to this post I would appreciate it and like to thank you in advance.

I've got an '87 and it's a ball! Parts shouldn't be a problem & you can get loads of stuff off of eBay CHEAP!
