to be honest i use the 400ex more then the vinny, even in the mud and snow the 400 is amazing partialy the tires are the big factor, my reason for still having the vinny is going some places you just cant take a sport bike, some times i NEED 4x4 with all the cr@p i have. deep mud and water the vinny is superb. i like the smoother ride of the 400 however, and the nimble handleing and on command wheelies.
i wouldnt trade either, but if you wanted 1 all around bike that can do it all it would be the kq, and not the Z, and then i just read where your from not much snow down there for you. imho go to the dealer and test drive both then come back here with your thoughts, and we will be able to help you more so.

Hey thanks. You're right, absolutely no snow here. We have "some" mud. Going to test drive a KQ and make my decision then.
