Default Z400 stalls on turns

I've had my bowl and slide out several times messing with jetting I tried getting better performance with a dynojet kit with no luck. I got fed up and reinstalled factory needle, 175 mikuni main jet, and turned mixture screw back to 21/2 turns out. (Back to settings it was at before ever messing with it and it ran fine) Now it runs as good as it always did exept it cuts out when turned left or right, even if your barley moving. I was thinking I might have screwed up the float setting after pulling the bowl off so many times. I hate to start messing with the float setting and creating another problem without knowing for sure thats the problem. If anybody knows what these symptoms mean please let me know. Thanks in advance

I would say deff the floats maybe you bent them a little remove the bowl and push the float up and see if it moves freely make sure the jet isnt sticking and if its not bend the tab down a little that the jet goes to give it a little more gas. i had this problem on a timberwolf before. GOOD LUCK and .good rideing to you.

You can check if its wour float by installing a clear hose for the overflow on the bottom of the bowl. Route the hose so it goes up the side of the carb, at least past the top of the bowl. Then you can open the screw by the overflow hose on the bottom of the bowl. This lets gas run out of the bottom of the bowl, wich will fill the hose up to the level of gas in the bowl.

Hope you can understand this, Im not that good at explaning stuff.
If you dont get it let me know.

wait...do you have different handle bars that are wider...if so that could be pulling the choke cable and causeing it to shut off...I've had this problem on my Eiger and my buddy's KFX 400

Same thing happened on my girlfriends quad. That would make sense especially if it is happening no matter what speed you are going.

I did just put new pro taper bars on, they are wider but thats not it because it even cuts out on a hard lean without turning bars hardley at all. And it doesn't cut out sitting still while turning bars. I should have done clear plastic hose float check today but I ended up super busy. Also,my quad is caked with a solid 1" layer of mud, I need to spray it off before I tear into it but the power washer at work was frozen up today. I will check float level and let you guys know if that was the problem or not. Thanks for your replies!

HOLY CRAP! I spoke too soon without actually testing bars! I was thinking about my last ride on my prior post and my memory must have been off. I took it to work early this morning to clean it up, let it idle while washing, turned bars and it died over and over. Funny thing is it also died when rocked back and forth hard without even turning bars. After work I moved clutch lever and choke clamp in 1" and both problems are solved! Thanks rolsmojave3 Your a life saver!
