air box mods on z400

Default air box mods on z400

hey guys i have a 03 z400 with a fmf titanium 4 slip on and i was wondering what the best air box mod there would be. i was thinking about getting the k&n xstream power lid that comes with jets and outer wear so what should i do? But one thing i dont really spend alot of money so can you please help me.

If you don't ride around mud, just take the lid off.

yeah i tried that but it wont run with the lid off in higher rpms

You've got to rejet it, you should call FMF and ask them what they reccomend at your altitude with no airbox lid. I've got mine at 165 but i also have the new header. I'm guessin you should be around 150ish on the main jet depending on your altitude.

if hes at 165 with a header, you should be at 155 - 160.

a really good thing to get is an outterwears air box lid it just velcrows on it will keep most of the dirt and water out, i only paid 20 dollars for one
