I have a question concerning the installation of the updated ecm. Do the dealers check out the transmission when installing the new ecm or do they just install the ecm and it's done? My dealer called today and told me I need to bring it in. What if I have existing damage and they just put in the new ecm? Should I tell them to check out my tranny or will they do as part of the update?

most dealers are offering instructions on how to replace your own ecm.. All you do is unplug the unit and bring it in for a newer one. If you want to bring it in to have them inspect it...im sure they will charge you.
