Default Zilla LT500R Power Valve

I have had numerious problems with my Power Valve over the past 6 Months. Well the Accuator assembly off of the Idle Gear finally gave up the ghost and fell apart. I am looking at getting some help removing the guts of the power valve and locking it open. The LT500 has gobbs of torque on the low end any way. Can someone send me info on how to lock the valve open for top end only? Is it just removing the springs?

Here is another question. Does anyone know if a block-off plate is made for it?

it works the oppisite of what your thinking..its open at low rpm and closes at high rpm. add a reed spacer and it will probebly make up the top end difference anyway. if up put it between the intake and reeds that is..

I do have a reed spacer on it currently. Everytime I have Power Valve problems I can tell by it running really rough in the upper RPM's. I think what I am going to do is just turn the power valve to the closed position.

It stumbles a little bit, surges and feels flat on top. Typical power valve not working problems. I am thinking about having a copper gasket made and block off the power valve ports.

personally i wouldnt block it off unless the only thing u do is drag...I would just try taking the cylinder off and cleaning everything really good, and making sure that everything is in good shape and replace anything that needs to, and then make sure it is assembled and set the right ways. I havent ever heard of anyone else having problems so i would think there is something wrong with yours.

The LT's have different powervalves from most others, for example snowmobiles. The LT's powervalves open in the low end whereas the snowmobile's open at the top end.

just my opinion, i would weld the power valve shut, people might dissagree with me, but most likely you will not even tell the difference.
