Hi everybody. Some co-workers recently turned me on to the pleasure of tearing up some trails. I've been a car guy all my life, but this seems to be a more enjoyable(for now anyway) outlet for me. Anyway, I've got some Suzuki related questions.
One of my co-workers has a 250cc 4X4 Suzuki from sometime in the 80's that he is selling. Asking price is $2,250. Knowing him and his family, it is more thna likely 100% bone stock, but well taken care of. To me, the asking price seems a bit steep, but being how I am not familiar with resale value of these I could be wrong.
I've also been looking at all kinds of differant quads out right now and seem to be liking the Suzuki Ozark and YZ250(I could be wrong on that model number). I'm not a big guy at all(5'6" 140 pounds) and tend to do light to moderate trails soo far. This is why I am looking more at the smaller quads. My only concern about the Ozark is I have done a bit of jumping soo far and I don't want to be bottoming out it's suspension every time I land. I've already broken a master link on a borrowed Polaris by doing this. However, the YZ250 doesn't have any racking on it that I can strap fuel cans and/or camping gear to.
Please help me make a desicion on which to get. Thanx....................

As I said, I was unsure of the model number. Basicly, the 2 new quads I'm looking at are the Ozark and the sport version of it(I thought it was called a YZ250, but I guess not). I'd prefer to keep 4 wheels under me even if they aren't all on the ground at the same time!
As far as a sport or a utility quad, I don't know. I like the power and capabilities of the sport quads, but I will occasionally go out camping with it so I need to be able to carry fuel and/or camping gear.

Ok, both of the new quads I'm looking at are Suzuki. I just looked up the other one's model number. It is the QuadSport Z250. So, as far as the new quads, it's a toss up between the QuadSport Z250 and the Ozark. Then, I also have to consider the 80's model 4X4 250cc Suzuki that my co-worker has.

Its good that you ask and shop around first because you dont want to shell out for something then be stuck not happy. It will depend on if your looking for a 4x4 or 2 wheel sport quad,i would go test ride them, the old 250 4x4 might not hold up very well to jumps, the rear suspension on the older utility quads wasnt very good,im not very familiar with the 2 quads your looking at but you are in the right place to find some answers. Welcome to the boards. peace
