what would be some good cheap mods for my 04 z i ride moslty in the woods fields and the WV mountains?

K&N filter, prefilter, and dynojet kit, all of which you can get for 95$ shipped

 

Dont spend the money on a dynojet kit. If you want a needle you can get one from alba ~$15 last time I checked, and you can buy individual jets ~$5 each..

IMO take the airbox lid off and put a ~150 mikuni mainjet in. This gives a good power gain over stock. You could also drop 1 tooth on the front sprocket.

 

bumpers, full skid plates (1)
then suspension
then worry about power. what good is have power if you cant protect the bike from damage
and since you like to ride in the woods theres nothing worse than having something rammed
into the motor case and breaking it and hitting a rock and bending the rear rotor or sprocket
