2005 z400 what octane to use?

I dont have have my Z yet but what gas do you use. Thanks

I'm running 89, but last weekend someone I rode with told me he noticed a difference with 93 octane. I don't know how true this is though. I'm sure someone else will chime in.

Run what they call for. I think they say 87, and unless you have a high compression piston in it or timing changes 87 is all you need. And no, putting premium or race gas in it wont make it faster.

I have to run 92 or higher. when i'm at the dunes I run 105

the tech guy at the shop told me to run 93 in all quads........

I run 93 in mine. I rn 87 in my honda. You should go by what the manual says.

you'll make the most HP with the lowest octane you can run without detonation. with that said if the manual calls for 87 then run 87.

Any tech guy who says all atv's need 93 is an idiot, and would never touch my motor, or give me advice again.
