Default Need Info On Brakes

i know this is a dumb question but i gotta get it going. I pulled the brake drum off of the rear of my 2002 250 quadrunner 4x4. i was cleaning the shoes and my boy pulled the brake pedal. I now can not get the brakes to compress back down so that the drum will go back on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
