The yoshi. gives real nice power on the Z. Take the lid of the airbox, depending on the type of riding you do , drill 1" holes all inside your air box to let more air get sucked in. There are alot of aftermarket cdi that all do the same job of extending the rev limit that cost between 100-200 dollars. Get the head gasket from the drz-400 and put it on yours , this will increase compresion. Lastly get some webcams with a wild grind on them. If you want to go a litter further there is a piston swap or a bigbore kit.

A Drz cdi will connect up to the stock plug. I did it to mine, it works great, eliminates the rev limit.

Base gasket, not head gasket. Make sure its the DRZe base gasket. Bumps the comp up from ~11:1 to ~12:1.

Both pipes you listed seem to be good.

I was very happy with the performance of the hotcams over the stock cams. You can get boht hotcams for $240 from woodward specialties.

From what I have read-
The Vortex and Dyna give the best performance, also cost the most. Almost all others are made by Procom, the company selling them just puts their name on it.

Everyone told me to get a Yoshi pipe too, but I got an anodized red HMF system from SweetQuads for even less. I love it, and won't trade it for another pipe. Sounds great and looks even better. Performance is very noticeable. I'm sure you'll enjoy either, though. If you get the HMF, I have a 175main jet from them, and a 25pilot from Alba. Runs awesome. Of course it won't be the same if you go farther with your mods. There's also a pic of the HMF in my gallery if you wat to know what it looks like installed.

Yosh is the best bet for the Z I would think, they helped Suzuki develop the DRZ and make alot of parts for it. You can even go to yosh's web site and see all the parts they make for the DRZ, some would work with the Z
