Hi, I notice the oil was leaking on my head pipe, I looked and it is all over the place, but there is a lot up top and under my gas tank, where can it be coming from? valve cover? any ideas? thanks a lot

 

check your hoses there is a vent tube on top check it hope this helps

 

Clean off your motor and start in up and watch to see where. It's leaking, you may have to replace a gasket or two.

 

yeah...i'd check the valve cover gasket...and the vent line

 

Well i figured it out, the rear vavle cover bolt and washer on the right side is gone, I am hopeing that it is not stripped out and it just was loose and fell out. Should I loctite it? is the torque spec in the service manual? if not what should I torque it to? anything I should know or do i just put eh new washer and bolt on? thanks

P.S I hosed it off so I probably got water inthere, should I run it and then change the oil or just change it? thanks

P.S.S if the bolt hole is stripped ( I ordered a new bolt) what can I do then?

 

Thanks, I pulled it apart and sure enough it was stripped, I friend of mine (the guy that put it on last time is going to put a heli coil in it for. Do you have to reset your cam timing after this? I did not have the motor at top dead center and it made the cam skip a toothe when I took the cam journal off. any tips Thanks a lot.
