I bought my KQ late in December 04 and had not ridden it any until going to SW Arizona in mid January 05. In two months time I had ridden it over 1100 miles on mainly desert mountain trails (remains of old mining roads) with no problems at all. Prior to the KQ, I had put over 5300 miles on an 02 Prairie 650 on the same trails as well as trails in OK, UT, CO, AR and the Glamis Dunes in California. I had just put the fourth belt on the 650 just prior to selling it.

Today, I got the Reverse and the Throttle cable recalls taken care off. While at the dealer, I checked on the prices of the the belt and the air filter, what a shock. A new belt was $190.06 and the air filter is $34.05. The KQ belt P/N is 27601-31G00. Looking around the net for a belt, I found that there were some Dayco HP2017 Belts listed at $34.95 (Whew, like that price much better) for the KQ. However, the HP2017 is also spec'ed for the Prairie 700, P/N 59011-0003. Don't think this is correct. The parts guy at the dealer does not either.

Would appreciate any comments you might have on this subject.
