Do Not Buy a New KQ Unless........

You want to pay $190.00 for a new belt every 1200 miles or less.
What a shock when I went to buy a new belt. I now have almost 1200 miles on mine and it occasionally squeals a little bit. Recently measured the installed belt and it measured 1.377 inches wide. Service manual says it should be replaced when width is less than 1.40 inches. Going to run mine some more until it gets tatally unacceptable. And I don't ride hard, no mud, no water and no sand dunes and little dust so far.

There will be aftermarket belts....then we will get a decent price... Suzuki wants like 270 bucks for the pop can rims! They are just protecting their investment right now, but the aftermarket will come to the rescue!

...while "Money"..is no issue with some people......that is dissapointing to hear...$190.00 for a stupid belt...another dumb idea from screwzuki....that wont effect the "Suzuki worshipers"......or the wolf in sheeps clothing...lol

I agree with Pastor. It is an awesome machine and I will pay the $190.00 if necessary. Dayco is one of the aftermarket makers of belts, however, based on several posts on this site, Dayco belts do not last anywhere as long as the OEM.
Hope springs eternal in the human breast. So maybe someone will come up with a reasonably good belt.

Trailguide...Out of the numerous threads that have been posted by K.Q. owners "1" guy has a problem with a belt, and you go off again. I think that we are exaggerating the problems with this bike. In reality, I think guys have it out for Suzuki. You and I both know that no manufacturer is going to do everything perfect or please everyone.

$190 for a belt?! I don't see how a belt is that expensive since an OEM belt from Polaris is like $40. I have heard good reviews about Dayco belts. I have never used them personally, but that is what I have heard from users on the forum. Good luck with the KingQuad.

Do you really need to replace the belt at 1200 miles? My son works at the local Honda/Suzuki dealer and they don't even stock the belt for the Suzuki Vinson and KingQuad. He says that they don't ever sell them so they don't stock them. They insist that even though it is recommend it doesn't need to be replaced, it works so well they don't bother stocking them.
