When you ride do you just see a blur or do you see the scenery?

I heard there are 2 kinds of riders, those who ride fast and just see a blur and those who ride slower and look at the scenery. Which rider are you? I guess I'm more of a rider that likes to see the beautiful Utah scenery.

I can ride the same trail over and over and all i remeber is left right up down. I have no idea about scenery. i could tell you about every rock, rut, bump, branch, log on the trail. but whats along side it I have noooo clue.

This is a great question. Is there a third rider type who sees both? I'll usually fit into the category of guys who admires the scenery, which we have plenty of here in America's heartland. However, I sometimes pick up the pace as much as my "hot rod" Rubicon will allow and get the blur effect.

Cool topic!!
I have to sort of side with the idea of a third choice or type, but I have only seen the utils on the "scenery tours", and those can be fun too, but to me its really about the blurr.
I was laughing when I read that because I have had other riders (not really the "blurr" type) look at me real weird when I would give them directions using things like the third deep washout, or second stump on the left side of the trail
Hey it was what I remembered cause I am most alert to those obstacles, and couldnt tell you where the old shack or burnt out boat was etc. because I wasnt looking for them.
So maybe its not too much scenery for me after all, but I still enjoy it when I see it

My brother and I were just talking about this today. We really enjoy our bikes ( K.Q. and Vinson) and it seemed that last year we were both interested in all this technical kind of riding. I really enjoy most of all NOW getting out in God's creation and enjoying the total experience. With that being said...there is no doubt that the machine that you are on contributes considerably to the overall experience. One needs to feel confident that the machine can get him or her where they want to go. This year, with the K.Q. I am going to get into some great country...and enjoy the ride getting there!

I live in a postcard...you can't not see it. So I mix it up...is it's a nasty section I might watch the trail, but when I'm stopped its all about looking around and taking photo's. Flat spots...I'm always gawking around looking for animals. Part of being on a quad to me is being out there exposed to the stuff...being able to putt on the edge of the road and watch the moose...etc. But when I'm in the canal or some of the faster trails ...it's all a blur!
