Default ltz400 valve question

Great forum! First post here. I checked the valve adjustment on my 400 the other day, and I'm just about right at the specified wear limit. Assuming my dealer will have to order the correct sized replacement shims, I thought I'd get some new ones on order now. My problem is I can't find anywhere in the service manual that gives me the stock size on the original shims, so I don't know what size to order. I'd just as soon not tear it apart to measure the old ones and wait a week or so with a broken quad untill the new ones come in, I want to get them ahead of time to eliminate any down time. Can anybody help me out here? TIA

Default ltz400 valve question

Most dealers around me (grand rapids) have shims in stock. I would call a local dealer and ask them if they have any.

Thanks. I'll call a couple dealers and check stock, but without a stock shim thickness I won't know what size to ask for. Maybe somebody there can lead me in the right direction. How fast do these things wear anyway? It's the first time I've checked them after 2 seasons of riding, so I don't know if it's a right now thing or if I can get a couple of rides under my belt this year.
