Default Kingquad Oil?

As you may have read in another post, I drowned my KQ and now need to change my oil, a few times. I live in CT where it is warm in the summer and cold in the winter. Just wondering what you all would reccommend for oil brand and weight. Thanks

Start by telling us what your owners manual recommends. And, is the bike already broken in??? Good quality oil is not cheap, but it is cheap insurance! (If you are one of those guys who is going to whine about the price of good oil, then say so, so I can just ignore the rest of your posts. Anybody who can afford the price of a bike and gas, can afford the finest oil there is.)

We have done oil posts over and over again. Things like synthetics vs petrolium, weights, the whole bit. A search will turn up lots of info (both good and bad). My personal preference is Maxima Extra a 100% ester synthetic, but I can't say for sure whether it is compatible with your machine. No matter whether you pick a synthetic, blend, or petroleum, it should be a motorcycle specific oil that is API SG/JASO MA.

In your area, I would probably run 5W30 in winter and 10W40 in summer. But again, I am not familiar with your particular machine.

Good advice: follow the manufacturers suggestions to a fault.

I've got about 400 miles on this oil called Royal Purple synthetic. Its expensive though but worth it. Try using seafoam from your local auto parts store to get the water out, someone on highlifter says it works good.
