vinson question?
#2
I bought an un-sold 03 last year. It's great!
I have the auto and for me it's fine.
From what I know about the manual,... They have an automatic clutch you just take your thumb off the throttle and kick the lever into gear.
I actually wonder at times if there is any performance differances.
But if you want my .02 The auto is just fine.

Me, personally, I bought the manual, but that just fits my personality better. Do you want the control, or do you want simplicity? I've never ridden w/ an Auto Vinny so I can't provide input. I've never read any complaints of owners saying, damn, wish I'd bought a manual! The only benefit I can see of the auto is not having to have your foot in the mud to shift. I have no problems keeping momentum while shifting going up hills or in the mud. Try to picture which one you'd rather have, then get it. Both are fine bikes.

I have had both. The first Vinson I bought was an '03 and was an automatic. It was stolen only 3 months after buying it and I replaced it with the manual one. I can say from having both, that the manual one is far better on fuel. Other than that, I didn't really notice much difference.

I did a ride a couple weeks ago with my vinnie auto and it was 85 miles round trip. I still had about a 1/4 tank left.
Now I will tell you that during that ride it was mostly level and I never used the 4WD. The 4WD does impact the mileage
