Hey....well ok now I know there is like a million threads on this...but right now I'm not to much up for reading everything...so here's the deal...been riding for ten years (since i was four...do the math...yea...im young haha)...have gone through many quadz...I've been very satisfied with my 04' z400 since the day I bought it...except now I want more...I love to ride and I would say I ride about 3 hours a day on weekdays because school, and about 20-25 hours on the weekends, moving out to the country so I will be riding a hell of a lot more then now because I only live by a pit so all I do is pretty much jump and do wheelies...and race some quad guyz...and that's when I came here...because I started to get beat pretty bad...so right now...I have a completely stock z400 (except with a cool first aid kit under the seat hahaha) so my question is...what are some good things to buy...Exhaust pipes, nerf bars, skid plates, etc. Pretty much a beginger at the inside and kind of outside of quadz and I really want to learn much about them (hoping to have a good career dealing with quads...and be in the Baja 1000 [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] hehehe)...I've seen a lot of your guys/gals Specs in your signature but I'm kinda lost in some of them (except obvious things...)...sooo...thanks for any of anyone's help [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

hey, most people would prob rip on you for posting this about being new. I am new to this, somewhat, and want to tell you that whatever part you are looking at putting on you quad, put it in the search and i am sure there are some good threads that will teach you about whatever it is you want to know. I am 24, and bought a z400 about 6 months ago and love it, i looked into a lot of stuff and the first thing i bought was a rear swing arm skid plate bc i was killing mine. after that i bought some nerfs from albaaction.com bc they are really a good price. beyond that, some will tell you to protect you bike with skid plates, others will say to mod the engine, just read up on it before deciding what you need. later

Full pipes then airbox mod, rejeted and put on dyno and you will be very, very, very, happy with the new performance.

 

Look at what I got.. i upgraded from a Warrior to this and wow.. what a huge difference!

 

Well I just got through modding a friends Z400.
1) TRX450R stock carb
2) DRZ base gasket
3) DG Exhaust, ebay
4) Polish and Ported the cylinder head

Running 188mj, 48pj and this quad screams, I'll beat money it will keep up with 450r's and YFZ's with no problem.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

With my mods Im running with piped YFZ's and TRX 450's.
