how many people goin to the big bore kit? is it worth the money for the amount of power you get out of it? this is with pipe, rejetting, air filer/airbox, all the basics... personally, im happy with the amount of power it has stock, but as with anything, more is better lol. any help is GREATLY appreciated

Thanks,
Farthing

Looking into this as well. I still have 2 years on the warranty though, so I'm not sure if I should do it yet.

warrenty is up in 5 months and 3 weeks lol....so i got a lil bit of time....but i not too worried about it. i just kinda want everyones opinion on the big bore kit. i kinda wanna keep the reliablity of the stock motor, but if the big bore kits are not givin anyone problems, then im goin with 40 more cc's. i also heard something about a 453 big bore kit. any info??

Thanks,
Farthing

i would look at the athena bore kits they are very good kits for reliablity..or you could do the drz base gasket and springs ,both hotcams that will give you good power too.. or maybe you should just wait till later in the year and buy a z450 quad thats coming .

As happy as I am that Suzuki is bringing out the 450. I think I will stick with the 400 for the same reasons I chose it over the other two 450's. I mostly do fast trail riding, and some hill climbing and not a lot of racing. Plus as much as I said I didn't need reverse when I had a 400ex that was a lot of sour grapes. Now I love reverse and the manuverability it brings with it.

why would i go and take my brand new 2005 Z that i just bought a week ago and buy a 450Z??? i heard the new Z's were gonna be fuel injected. my buddy had a cannondale F.I. and it was nothing but junk. and IMO, first year quads always have problems to deal with. i bought my bike a week ago, and haven't had the first problem. running the absolute crap out of it. just my .02 tho...

anyways back to the original post...any more help with these?

I agree Farthing, first year quads usually have some bugs and things they need to fix, I for sure will stick with my z400, as for the 440 kit, I don't know because I personally don't have one, but I've heard they work great and I haven't heard any problems so far from all the people I know, I'm most likely going to get one soon here, espesially because I do a lot of riding on roads to get to places (trails, gas, supplies, etc.) and I would want to keep up with cars and not have my motor die from such high RPMs haha.

well with the money that you spend on the big bore kit you could save and buy a z450.plus once you do the motor your going to have to spend money on the suspenion to keep up ,can only go as fast as the suspenion can handle.just trying to say if your looking for more power the 450 will have it and the suspenion too...yeah i read yours was a 05 ,.just gave my opinion like you asked. i have the athea kit on mine.and yes the 450 is efi and it is kickstart.no its not junk suzuki has efi on their streetbikes for years and kingquad now with no problems.suzuki knows about efi.efi has been around for years nothing new, only on quads.

You can get a lot out of the stock bore. With my mods (listed in sig) Im running with piped 450's in a drag race. Im sure a bigbore will be my next engine upgrade. Hopefully it wont be for needed for a couple of years.
