Default Newbie buying q/ question - is the Eiger reliable?

Hey all, I have been looking at machines now for about 8 months. I hunt/fish and do light farm hauling. I am looking at the Eiger, the Polaris Sportsman 400 or 500, and a honda. I thought I would take the opportunity to ask the Eiger owners of the world what they thought and how reliable is the Eiger over time?

Thanks for the advice...
Mac

Eiger is a better deal and much more reliable than these other two. Suzuki is making the best 400 right now no doubt about it.

Hi all I agree my riding budy has an Eiger and he has not had any problems with it. He loves it. I rode it all day one day and it seems to have A lot of power and it is not too slow either.

Suzuki makes good quads, but is by far not the best at the 400 utility class, the Bombardier Outlander has that in the bag, if you want proof, pick up a copy of the June DW Mag and what ever months the Bomb has killed everyone in

But if you don't want to buy the BEST quad then get the Eiger, very relaible and good, best of three you listed for sure.

I have an '02, and it is reliable, sporty, plenty of low end grunt, and much fun to ride for any purpose. A good price on an excellent machine.

The truth is the Eiger is as reliable as it gets and after all what is it you're looking for ? A CHEAP quad or the best quad for the money? I agree the Suzuki Eiger is the best Quad for the money and the most reliable ! If you're looking for an Eiger I have the best prices you'll find anywhere, guaranteed !!!! Just give me a call at 866-848-0355 or e-mail me at greggstoner@hotmail.com !

I gotta agree with most in here, the Eiger seems to me to be the machine to have. I hope so anyway cause I just purchased one!. Of your listed machines I'd steer clear of the Polaris.

As for the Bombardier, I don't really think it could hold the title of BEST!. ATV TV and other ATV mags didn't think quite as highly of it. Actually it isn't a bad machine, but hardly the best machine on the same token, and whats with the cheesy racks!. In the end I feel its what suits you best that you must decide. For me it was the Eiger.

I rode next to the Bombardier Outlander for a while at the Oregon Dunes last year. My Eiger was faster, and looks WAY better. This guy was a pretty good rider, and he even admitted mine got off the line better probably because it's a manual.

You can certainly buy an uglier machine than the Eiger. I ride mine like it's stolen, and I've never had a single problem in 700 miles. A couple of oil changes, valve adjusts, a bigger carb, a new front skid plate, some killer lights on the handlebars, airbox mods, and it's always impressing the people that I ride with.

well, it dont have a locker up front, that will mess with you in the mud, the bomb and polaris both have true 4X4, the polaris is on-demand. the 400 and 500 polaris are very good, my naibor has the 400 and that thing gets up and goes, 1200 miles and he hasent had any problems with it so i think that should say somthing.
DONT GET THE HONDA!!!!!!!!!! NO LOCKER NO A CVT NO IRS NOT FAST NOT VERY COMFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
