which is a better deal a 86 dynahoe 190 series-3 for 10K or a 79 case 580e for 8500? they both are in excellent shape? it is going to be used for track building only.

If your going to use it for track building. I think you would be better off with a bulldozer...

dozers are the way to go for building a track. there is a reason you see dozers working every dirt track.

of the 2 you listed the case is better site unseen though . better company support and you can get filters from napa . plus the case has a better hydrolic flow for the hoe part vs the dynahoe . i have ran both . if you could find a case 580super xl that would be better still . but price wount be there . LOL

the dynahoe is almost twice the size and is almost mint. the four major pistons have been repacked, new tires. i heard some negatives about the dynahoe because it is bulky and hard to get parts. the engine is a gm though, and i want to use it for some residential and mostly track work. are people saying it is bulky say for construction use? the case though is in great shape also. it is smaller and 7 years older...

yep go try and find parts for one also . and the bulkyness is a HUGE disadvantage . it doesnt turn as sharp and is slugish plus its not as agile .

hence the case is all around better .
