KingQuad Powersliding..........Possible?
#1
It's going to come straight from the dealer with Goodyear Mudrunners or GBC Mudhogs, so take that into account immediately that the Dunflops will be gone. With the shocks set to the stiff side, can a powerslide on dirt be acheived? Do the Elka springs help? What other tricks can be done to help the sport abilities of this machine? I've dumped the Prairie idea altogether and am so close to a brand new King, but want to retain some of the sport in the sport-utility classification.....

I have my rear shocks set 1 click from the softest setting... With Dunlops I can power slide with no problem... Requires a lot of body english for me to feel comfortable.
Good Luck,

I also can slide mine around easily w/ the suspension set to the 2nd softest and the stock tires. With it on the same suspension setting it and my mudlites it can still be done but it takes a lot of body english. I tightened the suspension to the softest setting w/ the stock tires on it and it slides a lot better, but i haven't put the mud lites back on yet. But i feel like it will slide them.

Well I'm coming off a Rubicon with a Warn 424 and it slid great. I love everything about the machine except the lack of sportiness. Have you guys seen the video on atvscene.com on the review for the King? King Me

Hey RedGoblin where do you go to view this video. I also just got a King with mudlites. Never rode it with stock tires, but it seems alright with the mudlites. Not quite as much power as i thiught it would be. Any tuning suggestions out there let me know?
Thanks

Go to atvscene.com and find the KingQuad review. It's right in there. I'm sure you know all about the Dobeck TFI and/or PowerCommander by now don't you? Apparently there are a few groups hard at work on a module to advance the timing/ignition similar to what was done on the Kawasaki Prairies. The 0-9mph lag is built into the electronics right from the factory so idiots that have no experience don't go out and flip the quad over on top of themselves just by punching it.

Haven't actually heard of that but i shure would like some more bottom end grunt on that thing. Can you guys wheely yours. Haven't really tried that hard, but I dont think i can by punching it. Motor is just barely broke in, so kinda babing it still.
