I know the shocks are better overall and have rezzies now. There have been several measures taken to lighten the machine up in a few different areas and I believe the engine was slightly beefed up as well. There may be other things but I think those were the main ones.

Blackbird does the 03 have the weakest frame? If I wanted some cheap stock upgrades could I use the stuff off of a 05?

their are some that had weak frame and some that didn't.if you race gusset the frame or if your jumping 60-80ft jumps to.every frame will crack if rode hard enough.if you can find the 05 shocks cheap or 450r shocks cheap go for it.but your best bet is elka or works shocks.get them set up for your weight and you'll wonder why you didn't do a shock change sooner.aftermarket shocks on the z makes a big differance

Cool thanks man. Also what about the 05 carb? Would it be pointless to put it on my 03? I am just looking for cheap stuff right now because the wife is limiting me!! LOL I have to wait for winter since we are spending every last penny on the house and what not...

the 03 had bad welds. If i had one i would have just welded it my self I would do a better weld then the computer.

the 05 carb is a 37mm and the 03-04 carb is a 36mm not going to get much if a change at all.i would get a 39fcr or a brock carb ,if you plan on getting a different carb

Also I have the chance to pick up a 05 cylinder and piston that are hardly used for 150 shipped is that a pretty good deal? Should I even worry about it? Thanks!
