Default 700 KQ belt question?

Just wondering a friend of mine is thinking of buying the new King. I am doing some research for him and noticed on highlifter site that guys are having to change the belt at a 1000 miles as it is off of spec.
My question is WHY, it is supposed to have the same type of tranny that Yam uses, the ULTRAMATIC setup, which people with grizzly's get 5000 miles on a belt and just changed them for performance but belt was still fine.
Are people changing KQ belts for nothing as if it is the same type of Clutch setup it should get the same miles on a belt right?

Thanks

Is there a large number of people on the HL site claiming they have poor belt life? You may want to post this on Nyroc's forum as there are many more people apt to answer a question about the King. There seems to be some sort of prejudice to it here.

I've read a few posts about people changing it at 1000 miles and to me that should not be, look at your manual, supposely that is what it says, from what I've read on the highlifter site.

It says it should be replaced at 2,000 miles, although people often go well over that without problems.

Its posible that those people are running oversize tires or more aggresive tread, than stock. Or maybe they are doing lots of muddin , and swamping the tranny.
Some people just want to be thought of as someone who really rides hard, and needs to replace parts...whether or not they really need them...just to out macho the next guy.
I dont have the specs, but in the service manual there will be specs for the belt...if its in tolerance, and appears good ( no cracks, glazing, or burnt spots) its good to go.
