I have one that I kinda custom fit on the steering stem. You can kind of see it in my photos.

 

how does it affect the handling, bombest? Did it help out a lot? Im not even sure what these things are supposed to do.

 

Let me tell you!!! This thing makes HUGE difference! The stabilizer helps reduce the amount of work you as a rider have to endure. The one i have you can adjust the settings depending on how much dampning you want. And let me tell you that when riding long trails with rocks bumps or just rough terrain these things have helped me ride longer and harder with less effort.

And if your are jumping a lot, this also helps when landing ... keeping those front wheels straight.
