can someone tell me what efi stands for? is it Electronic ignition or what?

 

Electronic fuel injection = not a carb

 

electric fuel injected which means no jetting or carb to deal with. Its what is used on cars.

 

Electronic Fuel Injection. It's the biggest single improvement in ATV engines in recent years.

From looking at the KQ and Polaris, it's not really ported EFI. It's more like a Throttle Body EFI. Both have the injector ported into the throttle body, not directly into the engine, like cars (e.g. MPFI). Not a big issue. It still means improved performance in a wide range of conditions. Also better fuel econ and starting.
